MK has for a long time been recognised as the benchmark and the gap between the good and the bad has widened since the introduction of the Logic Plus range.

In many specifications it states that the accessories must be MK or equivalent. In fact in 13 amp sockets there is no equivalent. The MK product is by far the safest socket outlet available on the market today. The MK K2747 (Double switched socket) was the first socket that had double pole switching so that it was easier to reset a RCD (Earth trip). If it has a faulty appliance plugged into it, switching off the socket will instantly isolate any neutral to earth induction, reducing the inconvenience of an extended power outage for no good reason. In addition to that the MK socket was the only socket that required all three pins of a 13 amp plug to be inserted in order to get the plug in, therefore making it impossible for inquisitive fingers to get in to the dangerous parts.
